William Tucker: Marriage and Civilization: How Monogamy Made Us Human

Marriage and Civilization: How Monogamy Made Us Human by seasoned veteran journalist Bill Tucker. Bill argues that the reason for all of our society's woes isn't stemmed from big government, pop culture, radical Islam, etc--those are just side effects. The real problem is deeply rooted in the break down of monogamous marriage in society.

Tucker argues at there is an epidemic rolling through America--a term he coined "state polygamy" where women are having children out of wedlock and children are essentially being raised by the state in single-parent homes. Since welfare was extended to cover single parents in the 1960s, we have seen our debt explode, gang violence on the rise, and single motherhood skyrocket.

Tucker says this isn't new, rather he chronicles historical societies that have thrived when monogamy was cherished, and fell when it broke down and polygamy creeped in.
