Keith and Kristyn Getty occupy a unique space in the world of music today as preeminent modern hymn writers. In re-inventing the traditional hymn form, they have created a catalogue of songs teaching Christian doctrine and crossing the genres of traditional, classical, folk and contemporary composition which are sung the world over.

“In Christ Alone” (penned by Keith and long-time writing partner, Stuart Townend) holds the #1 position of most-frequently-sung in UK churches for the past 9 consecutive years. It was voted the #2 best-loved hymn of all time in the UK according to a BBC Songs of Praise national survey and among the top 5 hymns of all time by the UK Hymns Society. According to CCLI, it is estimated that 40 to 50 million people sing “In Christ Alone” in church services each year— which does not include the unique reach the catalog has into traditional and classical contexts, as well as the popularity of the song throughout Asia.

Facing a Task Unfinished

NASHVILLE, TN (April 12, 2016) – Keith and Kristyn Getty, the world-renowned modern hymn writers whose songs are sung by an estimated 100 million people each year in churches and concert halls on every major continent, return this June 17 with a new studio album titled,Facing a Task Unfinished.  The project marks the 5th studio album from the couple and their first major release of new songs since their widely-embraced Hymns for the Christian Life(2012).

The album’s cornerstone is its title track, “Facing a Task Unfinished,” a hymn originally written in 1931 by China Inland Mission (now OMF International) worker Frank Houghton as a call for 200 missionaries to go into the heart of China at a time of turmoil. Inspired by the hymn, more than 200 missionaries soon set sail to plant the seeds of the Gospel, resulting in what mission experts believe to be the greatest growth of Christianity in the history of the world – estimated to be between 80-130 million people.
