CURIOUS ABOUT TOOTH PAIN, DENTAL CARE DURING COVID-19?

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ENDODONTISTS (AAE) SHARES IMPORTANT  GUIDELINES ON DENTAL EMERGENCIES & ORAL HEALTH THROUGH THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC

DR. ALAN H. GLUSKIN, D.D.S

President of the American Association of Endodontists

With the spread of COVID-19, the dental profession is doing its’ part to mitigate the spread of coronavirus by postponing non-emergency dental procedures. But what should people do in a true dental emergency?

As the dental specialists that treat tooth pain, the American Association of Endodontists (AAE) wants your listeners to know what constitutes a dental emergency and where to go so as not to further overload already overwhelmed hospitals.  On May 4th, Dr. Alan H. Gluskin is available to share guidance on dental emergencies, when you should contact an endodontist, and healthy oral health practices during this time.

DID YOU KNOW?

  • All elective dental work is postponed during COVID-19, but you don’t have to live with severe tooth pain or a dental-infection related fever.  Contact your local endodontist immediately.
  • With so many people staying home, maintaining oral health is now more important than ever.  Good oral health practices are tied to overall health, including fighting infection.
  • Some oral health tips while at home include:
    • Wash your hands BEFORE and AFTER brushing and flossing.
    • Keep your toothbrush clean by rinsing it with water after brushing.
    • Store your toothbrush in an upright position so it air-dries.
