DANGER: SKYROCKETING DEMAND FOR BODY ENHANCEMENT

AS PLASTIC SURGERY BECOMES MORE MAINSTREAM – PATIENTS NEED TO BE WARNED ABOUT HIGHLY DANGEROUS INJECTABLES

Buttock augmentation and buttock lifts are among the fastest growing procedures in the aesthetic plastic surgery industry. According to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 20,713 people had buttock augmentations performed in 2015, marking a 21% increase from the previous year.  The so-called ‘booty boom’ can be attributed to celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj.

Unfortunately, the skyrocketing demand for a rounder derriere has created a vibrant black market rife with dodgy characters offering highly dangerous injectables as buttock-enhancing options. Many are unlicensed practitioners – non-MDs with no board-certification or training. Among unlicensed practitioners, substances like concrete, cooking oil, tire glue and/or non-medical grade industrial silicone are injected into unwitting patients’ bodies, which can lead to major health risks that result in decay, disfigurement or death.

Dr. Tracy Pfeifer is available for live interviews to discuss the safest options for augmentation, the latest trends in plastic surgery and to give tips to your listeners if they want their plastic surgery to be a success and to last.
