While innovation in cancer treatment is moving forward at a faster rate than ever before, the need remains great for non-treatment based innovation to support cancer care for patients and caregivers on a day-to-day basis. For many, additional tools and resources are needed to support the cancer experience and help address challenges encountered throughout the cancer journey.

To help meet this unmet need in the cancer community, Astellas Oncology, along with Robert Herjavec, star of ABC’s Emmy Award-winning hit television show Shark Tank, and Stanford University Medicine X, launched the C3 Prize to uncover new tools and resources that can potentially help patients with cancer, their caregivers and their loved ones live better today. More than 100 patients, caregivers, healthcare providers and technology entrepreneurs from around the world submitted innovations to potentially change cancer care and three C3 Prize winners – one grand prize winner and two runners up — will be announced on October 7th at the European Society of Medical Oncology Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark.

On Tuesday, October 11TH, Mark Reisenauer from Astellas Oncology will discuss the C3 Prize, its mission and the need to improve cancer care. He’ll be joined by the grand prize winner who will discuss his/her innovation.
