CANON SURPRISES EMPLOYEES WITH A HOT-AIR BALLOON RIDE TO KICK OFF THE COMPANY’S SPONSORSHIP OF THIS YEAR’S ALBUQUERQUE INTERNATIONAL BALLOON FIESTA

Mariah Mascarenas & Jacques Toney, Canon Information Technology Services employees and winners of surprise trip in Canon hot air balloon

To celebrate their renewal as presenting sponsors and official imaging company of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta, Canon U.S.A. is surprising two lucky employees from the Canon Information Technology Service offices in Albuquerque, New Mexico, with an exclusive hot-air balloon ride (4041 Jefferson Plaza NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109) on Friday, October 6.

Canon is hosting a morning kick-off party prior to the surprise for the entire staff with food, music, and a celebratory speech from the president of Canon Information Technology Services, Doris Higginbotham. The Canon hot-air balloon pilot, John Betrehn, will then inflate the Canon balloon in the office parking lot and surprise the two winners to ascends over the office and into the New Mexico skies.

 

MORE ABOUT THE WINNERS:

Mariah Mascarenas  A recent graduate of the University of New Mexico, Mariah majored in Cinematography. She became a Tier 1 Printer Technical Support Representative at Canon Information Technology Services, Inc. in January 2017 and has recently been promoted to Tier 3 Camera Pro-Support Technical Representative. Mariah loves Canon customers because they are the brand.

 

Jacques Toney – Jacques moved to New Mexico for a fresh start just over three years ago. He joined Canon Information Technology Services, Inc. shortly after arriving in Albuquerque as a Tier 1 Printer Technical Support Representative. Jacques enjoys being a friendly face for the customers and educating them on everything they can accomplish by using Canon products.

Doris Higginbotham is president of Canon Information Technology Services, Inc. (CITS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Canon U.S.A. that provides support services for all small office and consumer products, including digital cameras, camcorders, printers, fax machines, copiers, calculators, and binoculars.

Ms. Higginbotham joined Canon in 1997 as a customer service manager with what was then Canon Computer Systems, Inc. When CITS opened in 1998, she was named manager of operations, and then promoted to director of operations in 2000. She became vice president of contact center operations in 2010 and promoted to senior vice president at CITS in 2012. In 2013, Ms. Higginbotham assumed her current position as president of CITS.
