Red, white and Blue Hawk. Just in time for the Fourth of July weekend, a popular theme park is honoring our military service members in a very unique way.

Starting on July 1 and running through the entire month, both retired and active duty military members, along with a family member or friend, will be able to join a special exclusive line – where they can enjoy easier access to the highly anticipated Blue Hawk roller coaster. Earlier this year, thousands of votes were cast and parkgoers chose the name of this renovated roller coaster, formerly known as the highly acclaimed Ninja.

Your viewers will get an up-close-and-personal look at Blue Hawk as service members near and far will be recognized for their sacrifices and dedication to our country.

Features/facts of the military-themed coaster:

  • Reaching heights of more than 120 feet, speeds greater than 50 miles/hour and multiple loops;
  • Two new coaster trains with new soft-vest restraints for a more comfortable experience;
  • Enhancements to the 2,800 feet of track for a much smoother ride;
  • A fresh, new coat of shiny blue paint along the track and silver paint on the support poles and;
  • More than 6 million people have ridden this ride since it opened in the 90s, making this renovated coaster a sure crowd-pleaser.

A military spokesperson will be on-site to talk about the ways the park honors our retired and active-duty services members.

Park spokesman Gene Petriello will show viewers the coaster and talk about how impactful this is to honor the Military throughout the summer holidays, before the kids go back to school.

We’ll also take you inside Hurricane Harbor, a massive water park featuring the award-winning Tsunami Surge water slide with a zero-gravity, 45 foot wave wall, plus a 38,000 square foot wave pool with up to four foot waves.

Coca-Cola July 4th Fest is the park’s annual celebration to salute America’s birthday from July 2-4. Guests who bring a Coca-Cola can get early admission to the park to ride some of the most popular rides before the park opens all three days.
