According to the Pew Research Center, approximately 10,000 baby boomers will turn 65 every single day for the next 15 years. It has never been a more important time for seniors to know and understand their healthcare benefits.

The Medicare Open Enrollment period runs from October 15th through December 7th, when seniors will have the opportunity to review and make important changes to their Medicare plans. Seniors should be encouraged to review their existing policies for any modifications in costs, coverage and benefits during Open Enrollment. They should also be aware of improved health care opportunities under new Medicare reforms, including a new focus on providing coordinated care, an outcome-based form of health care in which a team of providers, including nurse practitioners, physician assistants and specialists work alongside primary care providers to promote preventative, high-quality care.
