Bill’s Collected Commentaries…

December 12, 2013

from Bill Martinez

I want to be the first to Officially Offer you my Best Wishes for a Blessed Christmas Season in the finest traditions of this great Country of ours-the United States of America, a nation of people who Choose to Remember its God Given Blessings with a True Spirit of Thanksgiving  for the One who made it all Possible.

Christmas has been a time-honored holiday that is consistent with everything that is good about America and everything that our citizens aspire and hope for.  Christmas is a time for family, friends, good cheer, gratefulness, brotherly love, and charity to name just a few of the attributes that can flow this time of year.  And somehow this is becoming a bad thing?  Is anyone asking, “What’s wrong with this picture?”

No other season has given us inspiring music that lifts our spirits that reminds us of the greatest gift ever given.  If you’re not interested in the real reason for the season and why it continues in spite of all the attacks against it, then please stop reading lest you are offended.

However, I speak and hear Merry Christmas as a blessing, so forgive me for wishing you and yours the very best that this season and its meaning has to offer.  And please extend some compassion for us human beings for falling short of expressing the depth and meaning of Merry Christmas.  I agree that there’s so much left to be said and experienced about this Holiday.

Maybe, because it touches our hearts in such a special way that is can be a very personal experience.   I believe because it is a heart issue that it is an individual experience and it’s why Christmas can mean so many different things for so many of us.

Hopefully, this is a Merry Christmas for you and yours, and that the personal gift that God gave us over two thousand years ago will be opened up early and often.  You don’t have to wait for Christmas morning for this gift.  May you all be blessed with God’s fullness and may this be the best Merry Christmas of your life!

My former boss and mentor used to always say, “Be careful when you point your finger at someone because you’ll notice you have three fingers pointing back at you.”  Suddenly, I could hear his admonition as I was thinking about the lack of leadership on exposition from our government, especially the White House.

Being a Democracy, there is no one to blame for the leadership we have because, We the People voted them in place.  So though, they may be responsible to a point, but with the three fingers of self-indictment, We The People must accept, three times the responsibilities.

In this information age we live in with computers, Ipads, Smart Phones, the internet which now has 7 out of ten American participation, there’s little excuse for not knowing.  Yes, you can argue that there were lies or deceptions, and that the main-stream media, the critical fourth estate of our society acquiesced their position by not vetting the candidates especially then Senator Barrack H. Obama.

What did you expect really from a junior senator who voted “present” more than “yes” or “no?”  He told America what they wanted to hear and we ate it up.  In fairness, the media set us up by maligning George W. Bush to the extent that America was ripe to accept anyone but Bush.

Well, we got what we were told we should vote for, regardless of all the warning signs.  And how do you like it now?  Is this the change you can believe in?  Really?

Fact is, we didn’t do Barrack Obama and his family any favors because we “Peter Principled” him into a position that is beyond his training and experience.  The Presidency is not a fully on the job training position.

I have maintained that America needed a jobs president long ago.  What does he know about jobs?  How many jobs in his life has he ever created or help to create?  Had he ever signed the front of the check for employees? The answer to these questions alone should tell you that what we have is a round peg in a square hole.

It’s not all President Obama’s fault, he’s only doing the best he can, and his capacity continues to prove that his best in and of himself falls short.  The good that can come out of all this, is that We the People stop pointing fingers and accept that the buck really stops here with us, not just at the voting booth but long before the day we cast our votes.  It’s time we know, do and expect better.

WWII Memorial closed, Vietnam Memorial closed, no fishing in south of Florida, restaurants and businesses that are licensed on federal property are directed to shut down and worst of all, four of America’s fallen heroes and their families are denied their death benefit to welcome their bodies home.

Are you feeling the pain yet?  As surrendered subjects, it has become our responsibility, We The People to “pay the price” for this government shutdown.  There is a pervasive, disgusting and partisan influence coming out of Washington DC that wants to inflict unnecessary pain so as to redirect our anger to Republicans in an attempt to invalidate and disqualify their participation in this debate on America’s future.

I believe more of America is beginning to understand just what this might look like.  The Affordable Care Act or Obamacare is a mere microcosm of partisanship gone wild.  The hope of our President, Harry Reed, Nancy Pelosi and their associated partisans is that they’ll be able to hold off any revolution against this national health care take over long enough, so that it’s too late to do much about it.

In politics experience has taught us that little happens by accident.  This has been a plan that has been working its way through our government for many years.  We thought that it was shut down once and for all with “Hillary Care,” but progressive ideas never die, they just keep reinventing themselves until one day they become palpable for the majority, and suddenly the gate slams down on our freedoms.

The question remains, why would we give up the best healthcare system in the world for Obamacare that in its best offerings will provide less and cost more?  This is unheard of in the history of American commerce.  We didn’t become an exceptional nation by accepting mediocrity, or less for more.

Our rich history time and again demonstrates our commitment to super serve the people.  Companies and institutions that provide less for more find themselves rejected by the marketplace and out of business.  This is the beauty of the free market system.

However, in government, beauracracy embraces this illogical system and operation.  As Ronald Reagan so aptly put it, “No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. So, governments’ programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we’ll ever see on this earth.”

Well it’s time that those who would impose such anti-American sentiment and ideas upon We The People “feel the pain” of their own making.  It’s time Americans see Obamacare for what it is.  Healthcare for all has merits and who wants to see anyone suffer?  I believe our American tradition and exceptionalism can design a national health care system that truly is effective in that it can be sustainable and accomplish our goals.

This cannot happen within our government, because of the proven partisanship and their demonstrated interest in controlling votes and hence We The People.  In regard to healthcare, as Vladimir Lenin explains, it is the gateway drug so to speak of implementing Socialism.  Specifically, he believed, “that socialized medicine leads to socialization of other phases of life? He declared socialized medicine as the keystone to the arch of the socialist state.

This amounts to releasing the wolf in the hen house.  Our U.S. Constitution established boundaries to hold back an aggressive government force.  Like gravity, this deleterious force is ever present and marching forward ever ready to be that wolf in sheep clothing when We The People begin to believe that we are no longer capable, or even a bit vulnerable.

We must see the pain being caused by these government forces for what it is.  They feel their ideology is being threatened and their signature piece of legislation is being exposed, and brought into the light.  As you’ll recall, so much of this law was done “behind closed doors” and in the dark of night.  The push back is fierce, and you can be certain that it will only continue.   These ideologues give up ground most reluctantly.

But it’s way past time that We The People take back our government and get it back on track.  We are the ones to make that happen, Washington DC as it stands today by its design and nature is fully incapable.

O-Bummercare, One Grand Disappointment

Thanks to Ted Cruz, maybe our president is seeing what a “Red Line” really looks like.  A Red Line is backed by conviction of belief, otherwise as we have witnessed it becomes light pink really fast, fading by a lack of courage and belief that this is really the right thing for We The People.

I know a lot of people believed Senator Cruz was standing for them.  A majority of Americans don’t like the law because of what they’ve seen so far.  After all, it was Nancy Pelosi who gittingly said, “we have to pass it to see what’s in it.”

Obamacare (or O-Bummercare) is one grand disappointment just on the surface.  It would appear that everything the president said it was is proving not to be.  For example, our premiums would be less (everyone I talk to is experiencing increases, how does this reconcile with my insurance statement?  Up is up, and I can’t make it down even if I turn it upside down.)

How about keeping our same doctors?  Everyday I am reading reports of doctors going cash and carry only, they are turning away patients with insurance, and some are so fed up with the looming government intervention that they have decided to take early retirement.  Can you blame them?  And this is happening at a time when there is already a severe shortage of doctors.

And don’t forget the President, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and all the Democrat minions insisted it wasn’t a tax.  Of course this was all before the Supreme Court through some back room cabal made it so.  But what happened to the “no tax voices.”  Last time someone said, “Read my lips, no new taxes,” he was all but tarred and feathered and shown the exit door.

Where is the disdain and outrage for this bait and switch plan?  I know of retailers and marketers who have paid heavy fines and lost businesses (deservedly) for promoting marketing plans of this ilk.  But for this President and the Democrats, it’s OK according to their worldview.

In talking with Eagle Forum’s Phyllis Schlafly, (of “It’s a Choice Not an Echo” fame) it became obvious that We The People are oblivious to the President’s and Democrats’ vision for healthcare in America.  This is all about a single payer program.  And as Phyllis explained, “that means, the Government is TOTALLY in charge of your healthcare.  If that doesn’t scare you right out of your wits, than maybe you still don’t understand.  Imagine some unelected bureaucrat, (backed by the IRS) and not your doctor is in charge of your healthcare.

There’s enough evidence from other countries that have gone this route, and the results are a disaster.  Today, when we get sick we can go to our doctor and get immediate care.  Tomorrow, Obamacare will transform our healthcare system from one of the best in the world to endless lines, bureaucratic red tape, and being put on hold while calling in for what should be a quick authorization/permission to see your doctor.  And you know this is just the beginning because our Government is really good at making simple things very complicated.  Just give them the time and the power.

Well America, here’s the choice as I see it, a Government run healthcare system that holds hostage a fifth of our economy, or a healthcare system defined by our free market.  We already know what the free market healthcare system delivers which many agree is the best system on the planet.

And if we are willing to accept the truth of the matter, socialized medicine has not worked anywhere.  It doesn’t even come close to providing what America has taken for granted all these years.

And please understand, this doesn’t mean we can’t improve on our free market healthcare system.  But why would we surrender the best healthcare system for a lesser program that will cost us more and provide less?

Why do you think the President, and all of our legislature are not getting in line to sign up for O-bummercare?  They know it’s a train wreck and they’re not about to get “on-board!”

June 20, 2013  —

If you think for a moment that the proposed Immigration bill is about Border security, then you may be in for a rude awakening.   The evidence is clear that Democrats are the perceived “good guys” and will control the majority of votes to be delivered by the supposed Eleven Million illegal’s.

I only say supposed because who knows the real number?  I remember when the number that was first being tossed around was 7-8 million which soon begat 10 and now maybe 11-12 million.  Whatever the number, it’s a lot of votes for Democrats, and votes are what makes the world of Democrats go round.

Disappointingly, this is not about policy based on our national security and economy.  This is not policy that will serve the highest interests of these aforementioned immigrants.  And because it’s more about getting their vote, immigrants are gullible enough to sell their votes for a price of unending entitlements, broken promises and thwarted dreams.

But then you question, the price that must be paid for all this alleged free stuff.  Unbenounced to them, the real price is their very soul to be owned by the company store.

People ask me because I am Hispanic what’s my problem with free hand outs to Hispanics?  It’s because experience has taught us even harshly at times that there’s never anything that’s free, there’s always a price to be paid.

The Democratic Party collective offers free stuff in one hand and handcuffs in the other.  I believe dreams are significant and precious.  America is where big and small dreams have been are being realized.

Where else in the world can you realize your dreams, provide for yourself and your family and enjoy your God-given rights?  This will all be lost, even for the illegal immigrants and this is why I am fundamentally against the proposed immigration bill.  It amounts to nothing more than a modern version of slavery with the government being the one from whom we derive our rights.  For me and I know many of you, we would much rather derive our rights, like the constitution says, from God alone.

So many immigrants historically who didn’t know they could sell their votes participated and contributed to this great American experiment.  And their reward was freedom and everything else that went with an American way of life.  America’s benefit was job creation, innovation, and contributors to the greater American dream.

People from all over the world are drawn to America because it works, even in spite of a government that is doing everything it can to bring us down.  To them I say, if you want to be like much of Europe, maybe that’s where you need to take your ideas and your efforts.  It’s easy for many of us to see that your ideas just don’t work for America.

Our country is unique for many reasons; some might say exceptional, at the risk of offending some.  All you have to do is consider our History and tell me what other country or nation has excelled and been blessed like ours.  Our constitutional rights allow us to debate and challenge advancing the cause of democracy, but it doesn’t allow for tyranny and ideas that serve to destroy our very existence.  We need fundamental transformation like we need $17 more trillion in debt.

It’s way past time, to call it for what it is and open our eyes to a pernicious, dare I say progressive movement that threatens our American way of life.  Some may say, America is beyond the tipping point and our destruction is inevitable.  It scares me to think of a world without America’s high ideals, hope and inspiration.

Before it’s too late, I am asking that you reconnect with your big dreams that you had for yourself and your family.  I believe we can still take back our country, but it won’t be easy.  We have allowed too much time and ground to be taken over by the progressives who dream of an America that looks more like socialized Europe, where big dreams are thwarted, and your soul becomes the property of the collective relying on government for all your needs.

We are already seeing in Europe and even here at home, that government no matter the size cannot deliver.   It’s one big hallow promise to secure politicians reelection. Stop and consider that some 310 million people in America are being controlled and manipulated by just 545 elected officials.  We must open our eyes to see that the greater good is being misserved.

What happened to a Government of, for and by the people?  Progressives have been allowed to steal our dreams, our resources and all our hard work.  They have and continue to redistribute every bit of our resources to those they chose and deem worthy of their particular cause and interest.  We The People are being screwed!

We the people are a force right now in America but there are many who are against us, who believe that Americans are somehow undeserving.  That hard work, dedication, courage and commitment doesn’t deserve its reward.

Many before us realized that what America has is too precious to cast aside.  So much so that they willingly sacrificed it all, including their very lives to pass on generation to generation an exceptional America.  The question before us this day is, “Will we be the generation that is unable to pass on the baton of hope and freedom to the next generation?”
