LEARNING ENGLISH IS AS SIMPLE AS WATCHING TV 

New, First-of-its-Kind Channel to Launch

Learning English is a bridge to prosperity for many Latinos living in the United States. While the journey to learn can be challenging, many people find that watching English-language television is helpful. In fact, The New York Times published an article last fall detailing how the show “Friends” had become a favorite of Spanish-speaking Major League Baseball players. Wilmer Flores, Luis Severino, Freddy Galvis and others came to the United States to play ball without knowing English. The hit show became a language guide for young players who were learning English as a second language.

According to a recent study, nearly 70 percent of Spanish-dominant Hispanics would like to improve their English and would be interested in doing so through a channel that teaches English as a Second Language (ESL). For this reason, DishLATINO and Sling TV are launching “Inglés Para Todos,” a new HD channel developed solely to help viewers learn and improve their English proficiency. The channel aims to empower U.S. Hispanic consumers through the learning process, making it as simple as watching TV.

On October 8th, Alfredo Rodriguez will be available for interviews. He will discuss how television can be used as a language guide for newcomers to the United States, and the key motivators for those who want to learn English. He’ll also provide details about the launch of Inglés Para Todos, how it can help you or your loved ones gain a better command of English, and how to access the channel.

More About Alfredo Rodriguez:
Alfredo Rodriguez is Vice President of DishLATINO, DISH’s rapidly growing business unit and brand that offers a broad range of pay-tv programming packages to Hispanics in the U.S and Puerto Rico.
